Fequently Asked Questions
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is using tools and pigment to create a more defined look of your features, brows, lips, eyeliner. Permanent makeup can be done to your desired look, a natural enhanced look, or a bolder more makeup like look.
What is the difference between microblading and powder shading?
Microblading is a technique of tattooing individual hairstrokes onto the skin using a handheld tool called a microblade. Powder shading creates a lightly pixelated/shaded look using a traditional tattoo machine and needle cartridge. The needle moves in and out of the cartridge at a very high speed, depositing a tiny bit of pigment with each little pin prick.
Microblading mimics actual hairstrokes, whereas powder shading looks more like filling in your brows with a brow pencil.
You can chose either microblading, powdershading, or even a combination of the two depending on your desired look! Refer to our before and after page to look at examples of the different techniques.
What is the difference between Microblading and Nano brows?
Microblading is a technique of tattooing individual hairstrokes onto the skin using a handheld tool called a microblade. Using a microblade essentially creates a very shallow cut into the skin where pigment is then deposited to mimic the look of hairstrokes.
Nano brows is using a traditional tattoo machine, just like powder shading mentioned above. The difference being that instead of shading, the needle cartridge is used to draw hairlike strokes across the skin. So what makes this different than the microbladed strokes? The machine drawn strokes are made up of hundreds of tiny dots forming a hair stroke line, and microblading is one single cut. Machine strokes takes longer to do, but also causes less trauma to the skin. Because of this, nano brows/machine strokes are recommended for people with: Mature skin, oily skin, dark skin tones, and people prone to scarring and keloid.
How long does it take to heal?
It depends on the procedure!
Brows is 2 weeks and lip blush and eyeliner only 1 week. These 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure is considered initial healing, after the 1 or 2 weeks depending on treatment, you can resume normal regular activities such as wearing makeup and working out. 6-8 weeks is considered completely healed as far as how the result and pigment look. It is after 6-8 that you will return for your followup appointment were any touch ups are done if desired. Touch up appointment is included in the priced listed when booking, and an aftercare kit with healing supplies and instruction is provided to every customer.
Does permanent makeup hurt?
Most client reviews of pain during brow procedures range from some discomfort, to little feeling at all. Lips are typically the most sensitive due to the delicate skin and area, and customers report some pain. Eyeliner is typically reported to have some feeling of discomfort, but not very painful. Before every procedure, we use a topical numbing, and during the procedure a secondary topical numbing for maximum comfort. There is usually no pain after the procedure, during the healing period.
I have little to no brow hair, can I get permanent makeup?
Yes! Whether you have no hair at all, or already full brows you can get permanent makeup. If you have very little brow hair, we will work together to create a brow shape that you love, then use Microblading and/or machine shading to create the look of hair!
If you already have a lot of brow hair, we will shape your brows to you desire, then enhance their look by working with microblading/machine shading in between hairs (we never remove hair except for hair that exists outside of your desired shape!).

Who is permanent makeup for?
Everyone! Permanent makeup is for anyone who wants to enhance the natural beauty of their features. Permanent makeup can be done for a very bold look, or a barely there touch of pigment. Visit our before and after pictures for examples of various ages, genders, and hair types.
How long does it last?
Microbladed eyebrows typically last 1 to 2 years before needing a touch up depending on skin type, sun/water exposure, and skin care routine. Lips and liner typically lasts longer, 3-5 years. A regular spf and not using harsh facial treatments will typically prolong the life of your permanent make up.
How long is the appointment?
Typically 3 hours. Most of this time is spent discussing your desired outcome, mapping the outline of the work on your face, applying number/waiting for numbing to take effect. The microblading/shading process usually last 45 minutes, and one hour for lips/eyeliner.
How should I prepare for the appointment
No botox/fillers 3 months prior to appointment. Stop facial treatments, tanning, and waxing 1 week prior to appointment. The day of the appointment make sure not to ingest any caffeine or ibuprofen, this can cause bleeding due to both being blood thinners. Make sure to advise us of any changes to your medication as some can impact your ability to receive a permanent makeup treatment. Accutane and blood thinners to name a few are medications that would disqualify someone from being able to safely receive the service.

Should I wear makeup to my appointment?
You can! Arriving with your normal makeup done will help us to see what look you generally prefer, and can give us something to steer towards. If you do wear makeup on the area we are treating, the makeup will be removed prior to starting the actual procedure, but we will attempt to leave all other makeup in place!
If you do not normally wear makeup, then there is no need to apply it for the sake of the appointment!
